Publix now offers weekly BOGO deals in local stores (new offers release every Wednesday or Thursday) that run until store closing the following week.

Walmart will begin a weeklong fall sale at 12 a.m. ET Oct.
5 — offering discounts up to 50% off home, 40% off tech and fashion, and 30% off toys through Oct. 11. Shoppers in North Port can plan to check for more deals and take advantage of early holiday savings.

Regular gas prices jumped over 12 cents overnight in the area covering Bradenton, Sarasota and Venice, reaching $4.22 per gallon on Wednesday, Sept.
16, according to AAA. Prices have risen nearly 37 cents this month and are over $1.07 higher than last year.
Florida's Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday has been in effect since Sept.
1 and will run through Dec. 31, offering local shoppers tax relief on eligible outdoor gear; consumers can save at least 6% on items like tents, firearms, and fishing supplies both in stores and online.
🏛️ Government
The House approved the Sunshine Protection Act to make daylight saving time permanent, but the Senate has not voted yet.
If the Senate does not pass the bill, North Port residents will set their clocks back one hour on Sunday, Nov. 1 as Florida lawmakers push for a permanent schedule.
The Supreme Court ruling let mail voting continue in Florida so eligible voters may request ballots until 5 p.m. on Oct.
22 and must have them received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3. Registered voters can opt for a secure way to cast their ballots.
